As part of the Year of Mathematics and the implementation of the joint Ukrainian-Norwegian project DeDiMaMo «Development of mathematical competencies of students through digital mathematical modeling», the «Mathematical Workshop» began its work on January 20, 2021 at Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University.
The event was opened by Rector Bohdan Buiak, who noted the role of mathematics education in the present, the steps taken by the university management to promote the study of natural sciences and mathematics. Olga Khoma, Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, stressed the importance of the university’s work in training future teachers of mathematics, physics and computer science and the activities of university teachers in the development of STEM education in Ternopil region.
Head of the Department of Informatics and Methods of Teaching Nadiia Balyk, together with the associate professors of the same department Serhii Martyniuk and Olga Barna shared with the participants the prospects of entrants and students studying mathematics and informatics, acquainted the audience with the results obtained in the areas of improvement and development of mathematical competencies of university students.
The participants of the meeting agreed to continue holding such master classes in future.
