The new 2022-23 academic year at the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University began with new software to support mathematics education, which was purchased as part of the implementation of the international scientific project “Development of students’ mathematical competencies through digital mathematical modeling” (DeDiMaMo) of the EURASIA 2019 program, CPEA -ST-2019/10067. The purchase took place with the support of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Improvement of Higher Education (DIKU) and the University of Agder project coordinator (Norway). In particular, Kyiv University named after Boris Grinchenko received 20 Maple 2022 Network Floating Perpetual Student mathematical packages. and Maple 2022 Network Floating Perpetual Academic 2 units, with a total value of NOK 49,750. The goal of establishing new mathematical packages is defined as the formation in the participants of the educational process of the ability to solve and generalize practical problems using fundamental and special applied methods of mathematical and computer sciences, as well as to develop mathematical models, algorithms, create and operate appropriate scientific software for conducting mathematical and computer modeling, data analysis and processing, analysis of the obtained results; the ability to learn throughout life; preparation of mathematicians for market requirements in conditions of digitalization of society.

As part of the implementation of the international scientific project “Development of students’ mathematical competencies through digital mathematical modeling” (DeDiMaMo) of the EURASIA 2019 program, CPEA-ST-2019/10067, the coordinator of which is the University of Agder (Norway), with the support of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Improvement of higher education (DIKU), VARK profiles were purchased. Student profiles provide the possibility of questionnaires according to the VARK method, processing the data obtained after the questionnaires and providing useful advice to each respondent regarding learning preferences, adjusted according to the results.

On September 27, 2021, the Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University hosted a presentation of the Center for Modeling and Programming, which was updated as part of an international research project “Development of students’ mathematical competencies through digital mathematical modeling” (DeDiMaMo) EURASIA programme 2019, CPEA-ST-2019/10067.

The center was equipped with the support of the Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Improvement in Higher Education (DIKU) and opened at the Faculty of Information Technology and Management (13-b Marshala Tymoshenko Street). Equipment of the center: personal multimedia computers – monoblocks (6 pcs.), Laptops (2 pcs.), 3D printer (1 pc.), Totaling UAH 325,200. The current tasks of the Center are: formation of participants in the educational process skills to solve and generalize practical problems using fundamental and special applied methods of mathematical and computer sciences, as well as to develop mathematical models, algorithms, create and operate appropriate knowledge-intensive software for mathematical and computer modeling, analysis and data processing, analysis of the results; ability to learn throughout life; preparation of mathematicians for market requirements in the conditions of digitalization of society; implementation of methodological support for mathematicians through thematic forums, master classes, trainings on the use of equipment for the implementation of mathematical education. The equipment for the Center was selected to work on mathematical modeling tasks that require the use of computer algebraic systems (such as MATLAB) or modeling software. Fast computers with at least an i5 processor with sufficient RAM are required to quickly solve computational mathematical problems (such as big data analysis, solving large systems of linear equations and inequalities, solving complex systems of differential equations), and quality video card. Selected computers are known for their good performance, durability and reliability. The 3D printer allows you to create 3D objects that will serve as prototypes for products developed in the process of mathematical modeling of business problems.

Welcoming remarks were made by: Alla Mykhatska, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Management, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences; Yuriy Rogovchenko, Project Coordinator from University of Agder (Norway), Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences; Nataliia Morze, Professor of the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Faculty of Information Technology and Management, Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Project Coordinator at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University; Oksana Lytvyn, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics, Faculty of Information Technology and Management, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher. The event was also attended by Olga Vyhovska, Head of the Research Institute for Internationalization of Education at the University, Candidate of Political Science; Iryna Melnyk, Deputy Dean for Scientific and Methodological and Educational Work and project participants, Candidate of Technical Sciences.

Moderator of the event: Mariia Boiko, Associate Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
